Hanneline Visnes: Notes from the VIP Lounge

Friday 6 October to Sunday 21 January 2018

Originally from Norway, Hanneline Visnes now lives and works in Glasgow and is a Lecturer of Painting and Printmaking at Glasgow School of Art.  She has exhibited widely nationally and internationally, with work held in a number of public collections including MoMA New York.

Hanneline Visnes' paintings and drawings often have a mesmerising quality that springs from the intensive process that is involved in making them, as well as her particular use of bright colours. In this latest body of work, Visnes has widened her interest from ornamental objects to include another area of exclusivity, that of high fashion. Working solely with watercolour on paper for this exhibition, often on a large scale, Visnes' paintings are both portrayals and embodiments of the objects and garments she describes.  Free Entry
